i guess with l and v they dont have a problem with mods, so if its down as sti, then its only gonna be seen as sti with mods, that was all my thought, i wont lie to insurance companies myself and dont condone it just thinkin outloud

John,
They went back to the underwriters who gave them the go ahead to insure my spec c (having described everything etc), no problems it took them about 2hrs though to get back to me.

Cant remember her name but she sorted it all out for me she was definately better than the guy i spoke to yesterday when trying to change insurance from one car to another such a hard thing to do that he wanted to cancel my insurance and then charge me from when i got my new car rather than me paying the extra 95 quid for the next 4 months.....

I am surprised they are being like that as I have had nothing but praise for them the last two years of insurance.. obviously getting way too picky about this list though..

When I asked L&V to insure my car with ALL its mods they also told me they would have to go to the underwriters., obviously I dealt with someone who was competent. They as in Tony's case, rang back after a couple of hours and agreed to add the mods to the statement of facts without any increase and still insured the car.
I think it is who you speak to John at L&V, so I wouldn't call them pathetic; just the person who said the RA is a no go, if you explained at the time in detail AND request they go to the underwriters then I am sure you will get a positive result.

Tony, L&V refuse to cover any car not on their list, end of story. Whoever you spoke to was telling you porkies.
I made a post about it, i also explained about this bbs and many peoples confusion, and they said they would look into updating the list, i also learned how the list worked, but something is not right as obviously all our imports are registered with dvla.
