Legacy Twin Turbo insurance
#1
Hello all
This is my first post, but have been monitoring the site for a while now - some very good info here.
I am about to pick up an imported Twin Turbo (would be nice if you could get UK cars) - It's a GT-V Limited Edition and I am having a tough time getting companies to quote - never mind getting realistic prices?
Most companies that deal with imports recognise GT's and GT-B's, but not the GT-V.
I've tried
A Plan, Adrian Flux, L & V, Tesco, etc
Anyone got any suggestions?

No, it is a GT-V Ltd. Not many of them around so hard to insure.
The big companies know it, but charge big prices. L V arn't interested cos it doesn't match 'EXACTLY' what they have in their list! It is still a Twin Turbo Import with the same power, but has nicer seats (but not electric) than the GT-B, and a MOMO steering wheel. What I really don't understand is that LV don't give a toss what modifications you do, but wont insure my car cos it 'ain't on the list'!
Cheers

I wont 'fib' to insurance companies - It's just not worth it.
However, I have had 2 quotes on the exact spec of my car.
Admiral - £965
A-Plan - £936 (through AXA)
There seems to be a lot of trouble on here with companies not insuring the exact car. The temptation is always to quote a 'similar' model. This would work in an accident situation as no one asks to see the log book, but not if the vehicle is written off or stolen.
My consience has wrestled with this a lot recently!
32 yrs, 5+NCB, 4 non-fault accidents (how unlucky?)
Chic - 31 yrs 5NCB, 1 non-fault
Parked on road & cat1 (I am not fitting a trakker only to pay in subscription)
Anyone got any other suggestions?
