Yes it would void your insurance by not disclosing any mods. As for Tesco not doing any mods, they should do as they insure me aswell as alot of other scoobynetters, my mods are noted on the schedule. Ring them back and query it, they may not do mods with a young driver on the policy.

They wont insure you under 21 with mods. Although if you tell em you'll leave and go somewhere else they might let you

I managed to stick wheels/springs/kit/tints to mine and they let me at 19

You will be committing fraud by stating that your the named driver on a car you own (it carries upto 10 years in jail) so is it worth it?
The simple answer is no.
Go to them directly, insure the car in your name, leave the mods for a few years until you can drive the car properly and have built up some NCB, by which time it will be cheaper for you to insure, rather than commit fraud and end up copping a few years in a young offenders institute (as insurance co's are now clamping down on fraudulant claims/policies).
Think about it, plenty of life to live

The law is as follows:-

If you are the main driver of the car then you have to be insured as the main driver (ie the person who uses the car the most) anything else is classed as invalidating your insurance.
Having a named driver on the policy is basically either for someone who will use the car but not often (a named driver normally has another car and an insurance policy to go with that).
Basically, if its your car and you drive it the most then you have to insure it under your name otherwise your committing fraud as you stated one thing on the insurance policy (which by the way is a legal document!) and are deceiving the insurance co and reducing costs by fraudulently not telling the truth.
