Hi all, picking up my bro punto gt today!!!.... havin probs with insurance, the cheapest quote was £1180 with tesco but this is without declaring the alloys and there will be in need of another imobiliser. ahhhh more ££

But...

admiral quoted £1300 with wheels and current imobiliser/alarm acceptable as they claim that as long as its got a imobiliser it doesnt hav to be cat 2.
Also they claim to give u 1 years no claims for 10 months (also decreses the premium).... anybody done this before, does it really work out???

many thanks

Have been with Admiral for some time and have been excellent. Interesting that they have an internet insurance arm which is called Elephant.co.uk which undercut the main company's premium by £200. Asked whether they would match the quote to save me the hassle of moving to Elephant and they agreed.

Careful with the bonus accelerator though - you are only paying for 10 months worth of cover. Can work out ok if you need to build up no claims quickly but make sure that it changes to 12 months policy once this has happened.

personally i wouldent use admiral again ever.

the service and help they gave me when my claim was a little bit difficult was little short of pethetic, the solicitors there to "help" me turned out to be more of a hinderance than help.

long long story, not about to go into all the details.

id advise you to shop around, and if the nearest is 50 - 100 quid more than admiral, go with the others every time
