I tried took out the cheapest policy on my car available and with the turn of events expected any day now I have to change the policy.
How is the best way to sack your insurance co. with the least amount of penalty?
They`ve given me nothing but grief and although were initially competitive are now ****!
Thanks for your help (before this gets shunted to the wasteland that is *insurance*)

No easy way out here.If you cancel the policy within a few days or weeks of taking it out you get well shafted.Insurance company will argue that the cost is for setting up the policy in the first place so that "short period" rates apply. The policy probably defines this but typically for a month's cover they will want 1/4 of the annual price. If you can show the policy was quite different from what they represented it to be you may be on stronger ground in looking for a proportionate refund.Cheapest isn't always the best and beware of the SMALL PRINT.........
