Hi all,

After reading the post's I thought it would be an Idea to try Liv Vic for a quote, as my Wife wants a WRX Wagon. I had a 'slightly heated' discussion with the lady on the quote desk, who basically wouldn't back down on the fact that there was no such car as a 5 Door WRX Impreza, ONLY 4 door Impreza's were made & that they weren't on her system, so they can't exist!!. She asked me to check with anyone who THINKS they have a 5 door insured with them, to check their policy, because they are basically uninsured. She went away to check all this information with her supervisor & still had the same outcome!!!!..

A Little Worrying I believe..............

It took three attempts for them to get my MY03 STI8 uk right. First didn't have it on the system so they put it down as an STI7. Then they changed it to a jap import STI8, and finally down as a Type UK STI8.

They are a bit funny with the way some cars are described - you really need a list of all the models and choose wisely - if you say wrong to start with its game over.

Similar with the Supra's. A few people phoned to insure an Import Twin Turbo - they said they didn't exist. But did have Import Turbo and down as the right years and engine size (as Mk3 and Mk4 cc's are different). So although it is a twin turbo, if you phoned and said that they wouldn't quote you. If you phoned and said Mk4 turbo, they would! And it turns out in the marketing material etc Toyota never called it a Twin Turbo anyway, just Turbo, so its safe to say just that! LOL!

I think L/V have just seen a way of making money on performance cars they have a big list of exclusions and they have not revised the list of cars available they really have not got there act together.

Norwich Union Direct all the way

I have just had a look at their website and they do list
"wrx awd (1994cc) 5 door petrol manual. produced 2000-2099".

Maybe it was the "AWD" that foxed them!?

they are being a bit optimistic with the productions dates tho'...
