Insurance for my son...not in the Scooby!!
#1
My son is learning to drive and I'm looking for a Fiesta/Nova/Metro for about £1000.
The real problem is insurance - another £1000 for 3rd Party! Any suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions.

Pass plus scheme?
I'm told it's worth a go, as it can get a significant discount. I believe it's 3 or so extra lessons doing things like motorways.
I didn't do it myself when it was a pilot scheme as back in those days (I'm 24) there was little or no benefit...

The pass plus is a must for any young driver thats just passed their test and has nil NCD. If they have NCD from insuring a car on a provisional licence, there's no real financial benefit but peace of mind for the parents, so should not be totally discounted.
Try and get him as small an engine vehicle as possible and a fairly old car, as age of car discount helps.
Try ringing a broker that is an Agent for Provident, they do a scheme called the headstart so should be his best bet as long as he fits the criteria. The Brokers that come to mind are Swinton, Hill House Hammond or the AA.
You should find their numbers hereclicky
Good luck
