Insurance Subaru Impreza insurance can be expensive, as with any performance car insurance. But the cheapest car insurance isn't always the best. Share your quotes, and experiences.

Just been on the phone to a few insurance companies, trying to get insurance for my P1. I've heard the words "declined" (Norwich Union) and "not old enough, need to be 30" L+V not to name various others like "I don't delieve you've got a P1" (Local insurance company).

I've had insurance for the car before no problems (Tescos) as well as others (Privilage). Car's been off the road so changed insurance to my runabout and put the P1 in a secure locked + alarmed + monitored garage (a bit extreme?). Now summer's here and I want to start running about in my P1 again.

I see people on here insured for pennies and I can't even get insurance? I will probably need to go back to Tescos as they were the cheapest at that time and still seem very competitive but I want to shop around first.

Depends on your age, NCD, post code, convictions (to a lesser degree for speeding) and whether the company wants your sort of business.

Subaru Insured were £1300 for me. Tesco, NU and DL wouldn't touch me with a 10ft sh!ty stick; or just quoted ridiculous premiums = same thing. Ended up back with AXA for £700.

I've had to move around every single year since 1998 even though I've steadily got older and increased by NCD.

Go figure
