Had my renewal come through, first year with the P1 was £1127.00. The renewal was £1107.50! I was not a happy chappy so a bit of searching on the internet and I came across elephant.co.uk. Filled in my details and was shocked when £914.55 came out. That's with the exhaust and 18" prodrives. Gave old insurer a ring and they said that they'd match it (why they couldn't offer that in the first place I dont know ) but when I said it's £100 less excess and protected NCD they said they couldn't touch it.
So I ring elephant up to pay and they knock another £20 off!
Hence finally I'm insured for £893.20 with a £350 excess, 6 years protected NCD and a massive grin!

I am 24, had a WRX version 6 (300bhp) insured with Privilege for £1700. Now tried to insure a P1 and they won't even quote!
*****. Any good suggestions? (No too young and too much car quotes please!)

Mickle - be aware ! elephant DONT do a like 4 like replacement policy ! if you try to claim on your nice big wheels or shiney zorst, they'll only pay out for crappy 16"'s & a stupid pee shooter (slight diff for a P1 obviously!)
they will acknoledge the mods - but only replace with factory items
Steve
p.s. my quote from them was £2670

hmmmmmmmm, thought the whole point of declaring them was getting them back if they were nicked. Gonna send an email off to double check. Could have saved myself another £90 without the declaring..

Mickle,
I have heard this also...
I understand that they will charge an additional premium for mods (makes your car higher risk in their eyes) but will NOT cover you for them. Sounds cr4p to me... also if you have to use their claims service the phoneline is charged at premium rate (70p a minute or summink !!) so don't let them keep you holding !!!
Premium sounds pretty good tho...
Cheapest ain't always the best...
