Cool

I found this too - they didn't care about my PPP or body extras this riased it by about £400 with most insurers.

Final quote: £672
(Me 28, 6 yr no claims, £450 excess, V-reg UK scooby with PPP)

Just tried them myself. 26 with 8 years no claims. Premium came out at £1069. My01 classic UK Turbo, and yes do what you like bar change the engine. Renewal with privilege was £1207 with only a limit of £250 worth of mods. Hate to think how much it would be with more than that.

Perhaps the new Sti wasn't in their system when you rang. Or because you are under 30 on and Sti.

James, your probably right about the age problem, it just confuses me as to how they can insure a 24/25 yro on a classic thats been modded and wont insure somebody thats almost thirty with a std 03sti?

Just had a quote today for £577 on a 93 wrx,I'm 31 with 9 years ncb.
Its by far the best quote, and i still can not believe they dont care about mods or alarms. It was totally hasle free and gets my vote unless people start posting horror stories about LV.

same for me, MY00 no mods (at the time!), 28 years old, garage at night, 9 years NCB, no points ever, cat 1 etc... just short of a bag o'sand. This was better than Tesco though (£1039 with mandatory tracker which I don't have so would have had to folk out another £300ish), I could only conclude that your postcode makes a very big difference indeed, I phoned them for a qoute with a different name at my girlfriends address but all the same info and got just short of £250 less on the quote, I don't quite understand either as car crime is actually far lower where I live???? Went with Greenlight in the end, charged me £831.00 no mods, just had Eibach springs and a few other bits and bats on the suspension, centre pipe and group N backbox, dump valve, greens panel filter, braided brake thingies and clear side repeaters done at TSL and they charged me an extra £40 for the pleasure, not too bad I thought.
