Our car is going into the dealer for some warranty work and they are loaning us a little run about for three days. They always ask that we provide a cover note for such a loan , fair enough. Our previous insurer Hastings Direct did this free of charge as part of good customer service. Royal and Sun Allaince advise they will charge us £36.75 each time we request such a cover note.
This could add over £100 per year to our insurance cost.
They say it is an administration charge, I say cheeky b45t4rd5.

I normally use the dealers insurance - last time was when my BM 328i coupe went in for an engine change - they charged £5 flat for 3 days !!!
Bottom line is that UK insurers actually loose millions of quids every year - they 'aint made a profit in ages....
