Question

Had a quote from D/L for an Sti Prodrive £1984.50 with 18" wheels and without the 18" wheels it came out £1552.95,what they saying if u want 18" wheels it will cost u another £400+!!, i jus can't believe it!! Why is it more expensive 2 insure bigger wheels than mods like exhaust and filter?

Had exactly the same problem when I wanted to upgrade my standard MY01 alloys to 18in OZ Super L's.Directline wanted to charge me an extra £80 until I rightfully pointed out that the car comes as standard with alloys and the replacements were simply a larger diameter. It went through to the underwriters and they eventually agreed a no cost upgrade.
I'm now in the process of switching my insurance to Liverpool Victoria Frizell who are very mod friendly.Have a look at a thread I started recently!

Good luck

Nick
