Default Insuring a JDM - Which model?

Hi All,

I'm just looking for a bit of advice on how you've insured your JDM cars. I have a 2007 STI and it's registered as a Subaru but doesn't say a model. When I look on the price comparison sites it just finds a list of cars Impreza R, Impreza WRX SL etc but no STI model. I thought about picking by model year and search but obviously it'll only find the 2.5L Type UK STI which is incorrect.

I rang a few insurers but they seemed equally confused and said it must be one of those cars and put the quotes through as the WRX SL but surely this is wrong? One, insurer although I forgot which now did ask the question of car power which I gave and it come out slightly higher but is that the correct way of doing it?

Hi.
If you need any help with insurance at all then please feel free to drop me a line. We can accommodate any model that isn't listed on the usual data bases.
Regards,
Dan.

Unfortunately there is no ABI code for the 2007 JDM STI so you'd need to speak to a specialist company such as Keith Michaels, Greenlight, Sky, A Plan etc
