Default 2001 JDM STI

I've found one of the above which looks tidy.
I've always avoided JDM cars though as I don't really know much about imports as a whole.

Can anyone give me some info about what to look for and any info about this particular model?

Link to it: J PerformanceCars : STi JDM

What do you guys reckon?

Cheers,

Matt

To be honest mate not sure on spec as it might have twin scroll equal length headers the likes not sure but i was looking at this on pistonheads and if it is as clean as he says then good car. Think if you got it for 7k then its a good car. Only thing is the isurance as it's an import. Plus needs bigger rear wing and prodrive front bumper.

mechanical specs are all wrong for the car......twin scroll ect

Looks like a JDM STi MY02 ..... with a few changes ..£ 5.5K on a good day

looks like a decent jdm bug... i reckon £7750 is a bit steep at this time, seen a few for a bit less but slightly higher mileage

Sorry mate did not see the bigger sti wing. Usually the jdm's come with the small wrx wing. As you can to i pay attention. Looks like a good car and as said abv not sure if that MY comes with twin scroll or equall length headers. You'll tell as soon as it starts as it will not have the subaru flat flour burbble!!!
Does seam a little expensive in this type of market as these motors are loosing £400 a month in glasses guide!

i would of bought it, but i really want a white one!!

Smile £6500

£6500 is the going rate for this car 5.5k is a bit to low

The trader is asking about the right money if he taxing it and giving you warranty, if you was buying of the public knock £1200 of his price .....

Would this be a better buy than the equivilent UK spec car?

Also, apart from the nose is there any real differences between a bugeye and a blobeye late 54 and DCCD-A throughout?

There was an 01 JDM STI in the For Sale section for ages that dropped to around that figure. Didn't look as nice as the one above but it was still effectively the same spec vehicle.

Can anyone confirm the spec of these? Closed deck ect? Think if you got it for £7k then it'll be a good buy. In todays market these are only going to get cheaper!!!! Whoo

st33ly

If my bugeye memory serves me right, apart from the cosmetic aspect the Bugeye JDM STi had a semi closed block, forged pistons, lightweight conrods (allen bolts), standard crank (the later STi's had better crank but went back to cast pistons) , sodium filled / hollow valves, shimless lifters for reduced drivetrain mass / better RPM, AVACS, IHI RFH 55 turbo (Vf35), manual / automatic water spray, 6 speed box with jap evenly spaced ratio's.......... 280 BHP and 267 LBF torque out of the box on 100 RON jap fuel LOL

Still only worth £6.5K IMHO

Shaun

PS I'm sure someone will correct me on the specs soon .

I started looking for a Blob STI, but given what I want to spend, a Bugeye is most likely. If it wasn't having to sell my car privately I'd be spolit for choice
