Does anybody know at least a couple of insurers who will insure the Prodrive version of the STi Type UK ?
I've rung 6 so far and they all insure the none Prodrive version but not the Prodrive.
Why are £1500 worth of Prodrive cosmetic addons so high and insurance risk that they won't touch it.
Are they confusing the Prodrive bits with the Prodrive PPP ?
A few names would be appreciated.
Cheers, Ian.

They should all insure the Prodrive and the non Prodrive car as the only difference is the body kit (and both are the same insurance group)
But try Liverpool Victoria or Schofields, should be more competetive as most thick insurance co's wont know the difference between the Prodrive STI and the Standard model

Sorry Rum*, got it online with Elephant before I saw your reply.
I think you'd be hard pressed to beat it though..... £766.
I'll try you out next year when I start thinking about PPP (after everyone else has given it a good testing)
Cheers, Ian.

I had the same problem and got increasingly frustrated with each phone call. Many companies will insure standard STi but not Prodrive version. I suspect that is more due to ignorance of the car spec rather than anything else. There were only a handful of companies who would agree to insure my Prodrive version. They were Tesco, Direct line (same company I know but different quotes) and Schofields (you didn't phone me back so lost the business I'm afraid). Tesco was the cheapest.
Bell direct would not quote contrary to above comment - I confirmed this by phone so don't rely on online service.
