Been reading, searching to try and sort my crap radio reception out on my 2001 WRX. The aerial is on the A-Pillar.

After reading some threads that refer to the amp fitted to 2002+ I was wondering if there was such an amp on my version of aerial.

Really annoying to think I have the latest Pioneer Appradio 3 and the radio reception is crap.

Please help

Just bought a similar bugeye myself with the same aerial setup.

No amp as std - I was surprised when I saw the unused wire coming out the back of my stereo.

I too had terrible reception so was looking at all the options - but found that just pulling the plug out of the stereo, giving it a good wiggle restored reception to a more than acceptable level. Hope thesame works for you.

Thanks buddy, going to try and figure it out more tomorrow but haven't ruled out a new aerial lol. Don't listen to radio that often but it's there and would be good for it to work

the signal in my 02 sti is excellent
I went for dab in my zaf gsi as signal was poor

Not yet, going to try a new aerial soon. Just replaced the headunit so won't be going dab just yet
