Default Installing front speakers need help!

Hi I recently upgraded my front speakers on my 53 plate blobeye the issue I am having is when I turn volume up to 30 my whole speaker system cuts out need to turn headunit off and on again does same thing? I also noticed when rewiring new speakers there were 4 cables coming from speaker so I just joined the 4 to the new speakers because I didnt know what to do with the 2 spare cables? Any help would be great thanks. Headunit is pioneer double din speakers are edge components

Did you get the polarity the same on both speakers? Also check that the speakers connections aren't shorting out on the metalwork of the door.

Speaker polarity is

L Front + = Brown/White (- = Green)
R Front + = Red/Yellow (- = White/Black)

I haven't checked polarity yet I take it this could cause speakers to cut out? I used terminal blocks for connecting cables and taped them so dont think its touching any metal. I disconnected original tweeter so that terminal is open will two of the cables that went to original speaker control this terminal? Thanks for your advice

Ive just done mine and the actuall terminals on the speakers were slightly touching the cut-out in the door causing a short. I twisted both sets wires that were coloured the same together and mine works fine. If your headunit is cutting out you are over loading the amp or you have a dc/short circuit issue, is the headunit capeable of running the speakers properly without the use of an amp?

Ah right I understand what has happened with yours. Did you just tape over terminals? Not too sure what size of amp is built in but I thought it should still work speakers but obviously not to there capabilities?

Yes it maybe that you have crossed the polarities so the speakers dont sound as loud as they should because they are cancelling each other out. If you are then trying to drive them too hard you'll overload the amp and it then cuts out.
Try swapping the polorities if needed first and take it from there.
