interference - any ideas?
#1
Hi guys.
Finally got round to upgrading my OE unit and got a decent Kenwood and Infinity speakers - but suddenly there's a fair bit of interference on the radio. The sort that crackles away in the background and then gets more intense as the revs rise. Doesn't drown out the radio, but very noticeable when the news is on (I know - don't listen to the news...).
The fitters reckon it's something on the HT side and suggested I'd changed something (which I hadn't). So they then tried "it may be one of your spark plugs".
I agreed to wait and see before going back to them as they seemed reluctant to sort it. In the meantime, thought one of you ICE experts might know the answer/solution?
Thanks

Hi David
If you've paid someone to fit it, I'd get straight back there and get them to sort it.
If it's just head unit and speakers, I'd think one of two things:
- head unit is duff (this has been known)
- they've mounted the passive crossovers next to a stack of wiring in the driver's footwell.
Good luck,
Nick.
