Upgrade speaker set up advise
Hi I'm looking to upgrade the poor sound system in my04 sti
I'm looking for a bit of advice I'm planing to upgrade all the speakers 6.5 up front with components and 51/4 rear with adaptors and sound deadening
Is there any point in running the speakers of a 4 channel amp? Also how big a job is it?? Is it a case of cut/joining the wires from the back of the head unit and extren and run to the amp
Or run new wire from the amp to speakers
Thanks ryan

I put some Vibe 6.5'' components in the front of the blob a while ago. It needed a set of spacers (Corsa II/III) ones work or if you've got the kit you can make some out of MDF. I just cut the wires in the door and spliced in a connection to the Crossover then ran new wire for the mid and tweeter. If you have an aftermarket headunit an amp shouldn't be needed unless you really want to fit one. Then it will become a mad wiring job!
Can't remember what size i fitted in thwe back but they just went straight into the factory hole as fill for the rear with a 12'' powered sub in the boot.

All depends on how good you want your system to be, personally I'd fit a 4 channel amp and sub, run the fronts of two channels then bridge the other two into the sub. Ignore the rear speakers - I have CDT components in the front of mine which are £400 speakers but the rears are std.
The door has Dynamat on the outer skin (2 smaller pieces) and a full Dynamat skin on the inner panel covering the whole door.
