Classic wagon front speakers?
The front speakers in my wagon are fooked, loads of
distortion even at low sound levels. I want to replace
them but I am no ice expert so would like some that will
drop straight in.
Reading through a few related threads here I believe I
need 13cm speakers. Will these do the job for me??

Does the depth of the speaker matter or not?
Thanks in advance.

They would fit, provided the holes line up, iirc the stock speakers are fitted onto a plastic carrier with only THREE screws.
I made mdf spacers, 12mm, for my 16.5cm Sony speakers.
The depth DOES matter, too deep and the window won't clear it on it's way down.
Can I recommend you nip to Halfords, do a bit of listening, then buy on t'internet? You really oughtn't to buy without hearing, they might be crap, or you might hate the sound I THINK Sony do a 13cm speaker with universal fitting.
