Default STD fit speakers

Have done a search, with no luck,

Can someone tell me if there are any front and rear speaker up grades that do not require adaptors, just looking for an improvement over over the OEM with out too much hassle, as I am a bit of a numpty when it comes to this kind of thing !!

Oh the hu is an alpine cde 112ri and its an 05 spec STI uk
if that makes any difference

Rgds

I looked and couldn't find any, problem is they are so small and shallow. I ended up fitting a set of Vibe 6 1/2'' components and used the Corsa III adaptors from halfords in the front and some pioneer's in the back for fill.
There wasn't anything i could find that'll fit in the std holes and not foul the window mechanism. You could be fighting a loosing battle.
Honestly fitting them really is easy...... you'd be suprised

Result, well sort of ! It turns out the fronts already have adaptors as they are housing a set of these

downside is the right speaker is knackered

On a separate note do I need an adaptor for the rears ?

Shouldn't need them innthe back as they only drop to a set level. I didn't use any and haven't had any problems.

what headunit are you using? standard or aftermarket?

those speakers iirc are rather good, but wont sound any good off a standard headunit. unless your upgrading a headunit, or adding an amp, then dont waste your money on anything exspesnive.

Sorry ididnt reply I have an alpine headunit, I replaced the speakers in the end with some cheap alpines, gonna keep an eye out for the odd dls speaker they seem hard to come across in this country, need an amp I think as it gets drowned out above 4k rpm
