Check connections first. Check there's nothing physically in the cone or on the spider (stupid as it sounds, seen that happen...)
After that, GENTLY push the cone in a straight line (DON'T rip it off the spider). If things don't feel smooth then there's a good chance you've buggered it and, yes, you'll need a new unit. It's probably under-amplification that will have fried it with an unhealthy bout of DC current so do one of two things: filter low frequencies out of the new one, or get a decent amp.
