Question

Nothing to do with Pork i'm afraid

With the standard or a replacement car stereo installed in a MY99, a crackling sound can be hear over the top of the music / chat. It does not happen while listening to a tape or CD and does not change in frequency with engine revs. It also seems to happen weither the radio signal is strong or weak.

Spoke to the dealer and he has confirmed the noise is there and reports he is going to IM / Philips for help. Any one else have this problem or a solution?

Yeap. Problem happens with original and Infinity speakers. Have not checked if crackling is coming from the back speakers in my car. Come to think of it, I've never sat in the back while its been moving.

Do not have a single cross over within my configuration. It crackles with standard head unit, speakers and cables.

The only bit that has not been changed is the aerial and speaker cables.

Bugger.

I guess it must be the wiring then if you've tried new speakers, different head unit, ...
