Blobeye speaker recommendations ??

Hey B0DSKI,
Don't go for the plastic spacers, there a touch naff.
If you can try and get the hard foam ones from the states, you can get them front and unlike most spacers for the impreza, rears too.
These are also a larger diameter, so more shallow speaker will be available for these. The space between the spacer and window is only an inch or so, and there is very little room between speaker and door card.
My set up is alpine tweeters on the wing mirror sail, and mid-subs in the doors, the Xover in the doors, squeezed under the door handle.
The alpine ones seem to be a powerful, but shallow speaker.

Found these on Fleabay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Seems to be quite a bit of choice for front speakers, but bugger all for the rears ???

I have a set of the Vibe and they are 10x better then the infinity 6520's I had in before IMO , never bothered with the back ones as I only sit in the front and the sub gives me the bass from the back
they do front and rear in that link aswell....

I'm still waiting to so mine, but upgrading speakers, bit of sound deadening and seal the door with foam (will link this once choose product arrives) will sound good, but will be even better off a power ful headunit, like an alpine. Really need to get my **** in gear.

Got my exact speakers...

The rears im still working on.
I've got some Sony ones in, using the above spacers, but there a touch proud of the cone, so it vibrates on the door card.

The crossover was a pain, i had to strip out the PCB and find a place to mount it as there is almost no room on these doors.
Some people mount them in the cabin. There is abit of room around the door console, but depends on the crosover. Make sure if you did what i did and take the cross over out, insulate it, but dont cover the capacitors.

Its quite embarsing, i never got round to carbon wrapping the panel, so its a bit of a quick fitting. The mirror covers on the inside pop off, a couple of drill holes, 2 for mounting, 1 for wire. Done.

I fitted Infinity Reference 6030 16.5cm component speakers to my 03 blobeye. I read somewhere that the Corsa SAK 3001 adaptors would fit my car and they did, just needed to drill 3 holes for each one. Infinities were £69, SAK's £9.87 from Ebay. Infinities come with a tweeter fitting kit, very easy to mount to the door behind the door tweeter grill. Screwed the Crossover to the door inner skin, loads of room.
Big big improvement over the OEM speaker.

I bought a set of speaker adapters from the states ages ago, cant remember the make but they came with spacer pegs which allowed you to space the door card a couple of mm from the door and allowed just enough room to fit much larger speakers. They were mentioned on one the how to's a while back.
