New speakers in my car.
Well my new speaker adapters for my Impreza bugeye arrived after having my new front door speakers in my house for almost a week now.
I decided to fit them today, as I have had to wait as it was getting dark by the time I got home from work.
Anyway, these are my new speakers Infinifty 6525s
Drivers side!
I took off the door panel, and noticed the speaker fitted wasn't the original OEM speaker from Subaru. It was this.
Anyway I removed the speaker and fitted my new wooden adapter and then fitted the speaker. JOB DONE!
Then the passenger side.....
I removed the door panel to find the original OEM speaker.... why! why! did the previous owner replace the drivers speaker but not the passenger side!
Anyway I removed the OEM speaker to find this....
No spade connector! Any idea what I need to get to fit my new speaker in the passenger side?

Not sure about a classic. The standard speakers are very thin and thus the window doesnt hit the magnet if you lower if. My aftermarket speakers are very deep in comparision, and the window hits the glass, so the spacers move the speaker forward, thus allowing the window to drop.
Plus the standard speakers are 5.5", my new ones are 6.5" so adapter also needed for that.

The adapters were from ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
The adapters were slightly too big for the screw holes where the old speakers screwed in (being 5.5") I used cables ties to secure the wooden adapter in place and pulled them tight. Then screwed the speaker into the adapter.
Rear speakers I aint touched yet.
However my amp has blown up since, so I need a new amp for my 15" sub in the boot.

you really should have an air tight seal for the surround/speaker/door to maximise speaker sound and quality. a cheap pair of speakers installed properly will sound better than the more exspensive ones just chucked in.
a very worth while purchuse is some kind of dynamatt or sound proofing, you can use it to deaden the doors to stop rattles, and also seal up the surround to the door. in a few weeks i will be doing a detailed install, and will include loads of pictures and tips i have picked up, but as i have already seen, subarus appear to be VERY easy to work on. i cant wait.
