My kenwood krc 859 rl head unit has just blown up. What Kenwood unit would you recomend, preferably a CD type. Budget of £400. Dont have a mini disc so they are no good. Must be a kenwood as I dont wont to change my CD multi changer. All suggestions greatfully recieved.

I've got the KDC-MP6090R in mine. Does everything I could ask of it:
D-MASK Security Mechanism, 47W X 4 High Power Output, MP3 Playback, Fixed Or Variable Rate Files, Playback Of Unfinalised Discs, ID-3 Tag Title Comapatible (31 Characters), CD-R/CD-RW Compatible, RDS Radio, Dot Matrix Display, 2 Preouts for connection of External Amplifiers (Front & Rear), DAB Control Option, CD Changer Control, CD Text
11 hours of music on one CD . . . Mmmmmmmmm

Yeah i agree with scooby that head unit is the dogs as it also plays mp3, and the new OEL display is far better. Only thing different is that they are silver in colour not black.
According to the kenwood rep i was talking to 2 weeks they plan to make it a on going range as its doing well for something thats been out for a very short while.

Thanks again for all the advice!
STI Wanna Subaru. I currently have 2 amps in the back off my car. So the head unit has to have two sets of pre outs minimum. Preferably 4.5V outputs. I have a kdc-660 6 disc changer so I would like to stick to kenwood to avoid buying another auto changer.
Here are a couple of pics of my system, I did all the work myself. It took four days to strip and rebuild the car!

Hi Infinity, good to see another install.
I'd recommend that you try to cover over your amps' terminals somehow if you can, as things may tend to get dropped on them.
Nick.

Thanks for the advice Chiark.
I was thinking about getting some perspex made up to cover the lot. Do you know of anyone that will custom shape and bend 1/2" thick perspex?
Thanks again.
