Cant select CD multichanger?? 2007 STI Kenwood h/u
I installed this lead CA-C2AX Kenwood - 3.5mm St which appears to have been a Kenwood original lead for connecting any aux input using a 3.5mm st jack to the cd multichanger connector at the back. However when I have the mp3 player connected the unit does not see it. Everything I can find (inclding the instructions manual) advises to toggle between front loaded cd and cd multichanger using the "cd" button. However mine wont select/offer cd multichanger. Even if I have the mp3 player plugged in and playing.
Is there anything else I must do to activate the changer port?
Any advice?

I'm sorry mate I've no experience of this device, I've only used the iPod connector.
With the ipod one I can select the 'changer' at any time but if an ipod isn't selected the display says eject. If you aren't getting anything I'd hazard a guess that the cable isn't compatible.

We'll heres my 2p's worth.
Before I changed the headunit on my 05 STI I tried to connect an old kenwood 6 disc changer which was working 100%
I wouldn't work on the Subaru head unit.
Wife had a kenwood 10disc changer which I tried and it did work
And yes - pressing the CD button switched between single disc & changer

I've given up on this. I decided the presence of a resister to identify a changer is connected is across a different two pins in the OEM unit than a standard Kenwood and therefore the kenwood lead ca-c2ax wil not work. I tried to test a resistor across the pins of the changer socket and shorted a pin against the case and blew the f__king thing up. now the head unti is dead. so I've no radio never mind ipod. Time to look for a new head unit - that leads to other problems - din / double din, main loom adapters, aerial adapters. how to ensure the elusive subaru antenna booster still works with an aftermarket head unit, andon andon...

We'll look - i'm sure you could pick up a replacement OEM head unit reasonable cheap?
Failing that upgrade to something a bit better.
Try looking at the kenwood double din units
Kenwood double DIN
I've had one of the DPX503 units before - sold it to a guy on scoobyireland
I replaced this with a DDX5024BT which has since been superceded by the DNX models from the looks of things.
In both cases kenwood do a loom adapter for approx £8
Aerial is plugged straight into the head unit.
