ICE dudes,
I'm looking to replace the pants standard front speakers in my MY97 UK Impreza.
Which speakers do people generally use? I've got JBLs in the parcel shelf (the ones with directional tweeters) which are quite impressive - anyone used these in the front too? Is it best to get ones with a seperate tweeter - if so where is the best place to mount it?
I'm sure this has been asked a squillion times b4 but I couldn't find it in the recent topics list
Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie,
You shouldn't talk you yourself, it's the first sign of madness lol!
I will talk to you, I have Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2" Components in my MY99, and Alpine 6 1/2" Components in the back the same car....
Dunno if that helps you at all?!

TBMeech,
Thanks for talking to me I was beginning to think I was on my own!
Components - does that mean with a tweeter in the middle, or a seperate tweeter and speaker running from a x-over?
Is 6.5" the standard size i.e. did yours fit straight in without cutting etc?
Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie,
No probs m8, cant have you sit there talking to yourself lol
Component speakers are Mid bass speaker, Seperate Tweeter and Crossover network, I used 6 1/2 which are larger than standard fit, had to drill the rear shelf to install correctly and use mdf spacers in the front.
You can fit 6" straight into the front doors no problems as that is standard fitment, but 6 1/2" gives a better sound imho.
