which speakers did you get for the fronts? And any chance you have a link to the fitting adapters you used?

i was going to get these but not sure if it's right for the fronts or not? Or what speakers i can actually fit with them in.

Don't bother. Rear speakers ruin the sound by bouncing high frequencies off the rear window. Buy an underseat sub instead.

I've put Alpine SPS-171A kit in mine ( rear shelf ) the kit comes with the adapters,
So I've got 5 1/4 speakers in the shelf and the tweeters just above the passengers ears ( in the back ) so it gives an all round sound.
And the best bit, the Alpines fit UNDER the original shelf, looks very OEM

Speakers on or under the rear shelf normally sound rubbish due to the sound being reflected off the rear screen and becoming out of phase with both the front speakers and the direct sound from the rear speakers, I mean do you point your home speakers at the ceiling? Get good front speakers, sounddeaden the doors and ideally use an Amp to drive them. Then add some form of Sub to the car be it under seat or in boot.

Alpine SPS-171A 250 Watts component speakers - SPS-171A from Alpine

do you have to specify the car when ordering or is it a generic spacer etc ?

what kind of ££ did you get them for, seems to vary a lot on the market

cheers

What continually amazes me about ICE is that people seem to want to buy speakers either on someone else's say-so, or because of who made them, or both.

Come on....would you do the same for your hi-fi speakers, without listening to them first?

totally agree!buy a good decent set of front components, amp them up and sound proof the doors!sub in the boot and sound proof boot best you can!
if you really want rear speakers i wouldnt spend as much on them and would run them off the headunit!

the sound quality will be so much better with that set up!!

im not really into ICE to be honest,i only want to change the rears as they have split and fart with any amount of bass/even treble

so thought id geta half decent set,i have a kenwood head unit, no amp just the 17cm front speakers and dont intend on having a great setup, just half decent, with kids in the car cant really bass it up and need the boot space

as for buying on others hearing of speakers, cant be any worse than what i have

After hearing a few and after having Infinity 6520cs in my06 I went for these this time for my03 VIBE SEK60 V3 Kevlar 345w Component Pro Speakers 17CM

( fleebay Item number: 350196267340 )

IMO these knock spots off the Infinitys and a very good price

Yes they are the ones, the only reason i bought them was because i had a set previously in my other car and they were a good all round performer.

Its down to personal choice at the end of the day.

I bought them from my local Halfords for £40 they come with 2 sets of spacers included with the kit.
