Hi Guys - any ideas on which manufacturers make replacement speakers to drop into the standard apertures on a MY02 5 door?
Ideally, I'd like to upgrade the standard 'cardboard' units for something decent, but don't want to be too obvious.
Cheers, Harry.

No they don't. bit of a depth problem. Your'll have to make up a couple of 12mm MDF baffles (rings) to fit between the bass driver and the door.
I fitted the x-overs inside the car to keep them dry and out of the way of the window and window mech.
Running new cables for the bass driver and tweeter from inside the car into the door is a bit of a pig.

So, Audio G Man - What speakers can I get that will be adirect 'drop in' replacement for the originals in the MY02 WRX 5 door? I don't want to go down the 'hacking it about' route.....
Cheers, HB.

So what speakers have you gone for then?
If you have gone down the Infinity route, I wouldn't mind meeting up with you and having a listen. I am looking at changing the whole lot in my car, and the Infinity ones seem well rated on here.
Cheers mate

Hi Simon,
Gotta be honest, I've got nowhere on this - purely because of work commitments. When I've a bit of spare time, I'll have a serious go and let you know the outcome. Could be worth meeting up anyway to compare notes. Incidentally, I see our dealers are moving this week.
Cheers, Harry.

Will do, meet up soon is a good idea...

Mind how you go on the Emley roads, Mate. I'm up there cycling most evenings, now we can see again at night.... ;0) Usually past the Mast etc - about 12 or so miles round trip.
Catch you soon - Harry.

Hi Simon - the exercise bit is just a desperate attempt to shoehorn my lardy frame into the WRX bucket seats.
SP - good idea! I actually never thought of that!
