Different crossovers
The one that comes with the deluxe is more adjustable etc
other than that the speakers are identical
Not sure about Hawkeye fitment sorry although I would imagine they should ..
The more dynamat the better

I'll be going for the cheap ones in that case. I've never bothered dynamat'ing anything before- in fact, I don't think I've ever done anything properly

Which is why mine always sound rubbish.... thanks for you help, I'll try and take it on board and do it right this time.
Any other speaker recommendations while we're at it- and should I amp them or will my Alpine HU do the job?

Although I have done in the past and have been happy
I bought the Alpine SPX-17pros I have now online without hearing them but they did have a lot of good reviews knocking about
Personally I would never bother with higher end speakers unless I was amping them , complete waste of time othewise imho

The stock speakers sound ok to me, so guess my ears are about as good as my eyesight.... that's too many years working in nightclubs for you.
