Default standard h/u really that bad ???

ive just got myself an 03 blob and i must say the stereo is absolute sh+te ? being a double din i thought it would be good but the slightest bit of base and omg it just destorts ! it doesnt even have to be that loud (about 25volume) . is it the h/u or speakers or the whole lot as i didnt think it would be that bad for a 6yr old car ?

Hi

I have a 2001 bugeye and thought the same thing, always played about with i.c.e in my other cars so thought it was time to upgrade the scooby.

I replaced the headunit and rear speakers first as they look the cheapest speakers i have ever seen. The fronts are just as bad but sounded a lot better running just off the new headunit.

I have now fitted new front speakers infinity kappa's and run everything off an amplifier

Hi

I used the corsa c ones off ebay for about £10. They also angle the speaker up a bit.
The hardest bit for me was finding somewhere to mount the crossover as they are quite big depends what model you get i suppose??

hope that helps

Cool. Have you a link to where you bought them?
Also, do they line up perfectly? ie no need to drill new holes?
