Guys..

Whats the most commmon method for cabling the door speakers..

1. Use existing cable routing
2. Drill new openings, grommet and route..

Bear in mind that each door will required 2 runs of 14gauge cable. (tweeter and woofer - this is a infinty 605CS install)

cheers

Not sure about the most common method, but it's quite possible to
1) route a pair of 'sensible' (or is it capable?) gauge cable through the current openeing, whilest
2) constantly removing thin layers of skin.

(1) & (2) go hand-in-hand, as usual.

It's a bit of a struggle, but grease up & using a coat hanger makes it all a lot easier!

Thumbs up

I squeezed 3 runs of 14 gauge cable through the existing door grommets. But not without removing most of the skin from my hands

A bit of Fairy Liquid seems to help

Mine was also a 605 install, but I mounted the crossover on the kickpanels so needed to return the cables back into the cabin.

Dj

Not sure about exposed cables from door to frame .... Would be tempted to protect them further. I used a very soft ribbed conduit.

At the very worst you could use electical tape to loom 'em up. That's what I've done, and there's no evidence of damage to the tape after two years...

Of course, it's easier to do this BEFORE you install 'em

And fairy liquid really does help a lot!

Dunk, it affects sound quality. The acidity of the lemon causes electron proflugation around the grommet leading to eddies in the space-time continuum, marginally changing the high frequency response curves.

I'm sure Dr Banks will confirm all this and possibly more.

DON'T USE LEMON FLAVOUR WASHING UP LIQUID OF ANY BRAND.

I accept no responsibility for anyone testing their washing up liquid for flavorings
