Default What replacement speakers for a 2001 Bug Eye wagon please?

What can I replace the standard ones with? I've got the HU, amp and sub from my previous car but would like components for the front and something suitable for the rears.

Cheers

Sal

you can get whats known as "custom fit" speakers from pioneer, sony and blaupunkt, which are designed to be a direct replacment for the standard speaker. if you're going to amp them you should get ones with a power handling of at least 40w rms. hope this is of help to you.

I went for Inifinity 6020cs in my 02 WRX Wagon, which are OK, I think if I had done more research at the time I would have gone for Genesis or Rainbows, probably a bit of a smoother sound.

I wouldn't bother changing the rears, if you have decent fronts and a sub you can just switch them out. The rears are only 4inch, so you can't get anything decent and due to the location never sound good anyway.

I agree. My mate has got a full Rainbow setup in his Focus ST and they sound the nuts. I was going to get some for my Bug, but I went for a set of Morel 6.5 componets in the front, they are being run by an Alpine V12 amp and two 10 inch subs in the rear also being run by an Alpine V12 amp. Sounds sweet as a nut.

In my opinion it's always worth changing your speakers, because you will get a much better sound from uprated speakers. As for an amp they will always be more powerful than a HU, so an even better sound.

its a alpine cda-9812rb 60W x 4 V-Drive High Power Amp. Ive had amps and subs in the past and cant be bothered with that route. HU seems far more capable than the last and sounds crisp with lots to go

At the end of the day mate, it's up to you, only you can decide whether the sound is good or not, because you will be hearing the system every day. Other people can only recommend products to you, but like I said only you can decide.

Thanks for the advice peeps My HU, bass amp and sub are in and already it sounds better. I'm still debating whether to go for components and amp or co-ax powered from the HU for the fronts.

I had components in my previous car and they did sound lovely but are a bit more work. Decisions decisions...
