Are multi changers compatible with other head units?
#1
I've currently got the crap subaru head unit running the standard upgrade 6CD Multi.
I wanna change the head unit, but would like to avoid forking out for a new multi.
Can I still plug the CD player into other head units? Alpine etc?

Doh!!
So are you tellin me that the only head unit that will control my Multi is the crap that I got with the car?
I was originally hoping to be able to just change the speakers for some 6" JBLs but you say in your ICE guide that the head units dodgy anyway.

Another one from the same brand will likely control it, but an Alpine/Kenwood/Pioneer/... would necessitate buying another changer.
Sell the changer (going rate is around 100 quid) and invest that in a total upgrade?

DH,
You could get a Phillips head unit, and it should work!
Or as Nick has said, sell your changer to someone else, or a Renault owner, as they have Phillips head units as well!
Hope this helps

Thanks guys.
I have tried looking into getting a better Philips head unit, but none of the ICE retailers web sites list them.
Maybe I'll wait till later in the year and replace the lot.
