Optima battery installation problem
Optima battery installation problem
Finally got a yellop top & set about fitting today but I have a problem
The terminals for the optima are further away than the Subaru battery terminals so the positive terminal needs to be extended. Looked in Halfords & local spares shop but no extension types available. Does anyone know if Subaru do a positive extension ?
Has anyone come across this problem before & how did you solve the problem ?
Car is a Subaru STI UK 2007 Hawkeye
Appreciate any info people can give
Cheers Andy

lord bass has the right idea just remember to keep the neg with the same size cable as the pos this will keep the resistance lower than the std size cables.
also better earth can make the cars run better, if you are going for a big install upgrade your engine earth to the same size as well. If you are using 4awg or larger ie 0awg crimps if you do not have a proper crimping tool solder the cables in, if not they will comeout and have a high resistance joint. high restistance bad...... once you have completed the change check the earth with a multimeter should be less than 1 ohm
