Question

On a 98 "S" UK Impreza, can anyone tell me which Phillips CD changer model is compatible with the OE Subaru-badged head unit (which I believe is a Phillips unit). Ace have quoted nearly £300+vat to supply and install, I'm sure I can get it done for less.
Unfortunately my wife (whose car this is) is not interested in upgrading, which would have been my choice!

It is a Phillips RC026.

I think you can get them for about £170.

Try www.caraudiodiscount.co.uk / .com (can't remember)

or www.caraudiodirect.co.uk

I have one at home that I might sell if you want. It works fine and I only bought it Oct 2000. I just bought a Clarion shuttle so have the Phillips at home in cupboard. Trouble is I forgot to take CDs out first, so can't get them until it is reconnected!
