hands free mobile phone & amp
#1
Hi,
I had a nokia hands free kit wired into my standard stereo such that when making/receiving calls the stereo was muted and voice came out of my speakers.
Since then I've upgraded the stereo and speakers and added an amp, so that the speakers are wired from the amp now.
Hence the kit that sends the mobile voice signal thru the HU to the standard speaker wires no longer works.
Does anyone know if it is possible to alter this adapter to work in the new setup? The adapter used was a Cellular Interface Lead,
PC6-069 Subaru all models except Jan 92 from Autoleads Ltd, Hampshire, UK.
cheers,
greg

You need to check your new stereo's wiring diagram to see if it has a telephone mute wire. If it has connect it to the mute wire from the phone kit.
If your're powering all speakers from the new amp you won't need that Autoleads adapter.

Using 5 relays it is possible to still have the phone kit working through the car's speakers but it may effect the sound quality a tad, so i'd have the radio mute when the phone rings. Hide the phone kit's own speaker under the drivers side dash or wherever you see fit.
