OK who has installed a single DIN Alpine unit? Is there room to clip on the plastic surround or do you have to leave it bare? Only reason I ask is the standard double din unit I have in seems to sit flush with the centre console ....

 

made mine fit with a little persuasion and a lot of swearing shall we say.......

 

In my bugeye I left it off, it fits perfectly. Have a look in the single din thread for pictures.

 

leave the surround off, it'll fit flush. See pic
