I've got a CDX-M600R, it's not bad but I think more show than go. Doesn't have that many features over the Sony head I replaced (which I broke) but it was cheap, 200 quid from Tottenham Court Road. Does have a flashy motorised flip down display but I find the moving graphics annoying so I've switched them off. I got it for the anonymous look when it's closed, and the remote. It's not a face-off though, if it's disconnected from the battery you need the remote to start it again so don't leave it in your car

I've got the Sony too and agree with the comments, very flashy graphics which soon get switched off. The sound is pretty good and i've never had a single problem with CD jumping.
Sony insurance requires that you have the remote as proof of ownership, if you lose that, you loose the warranty

I too have the M600R - and also agree with the points. All the flashy stuff is switched off on mine. I bought it as when you have it open, it is really simple and elegant without any flashing/multi-coloured lights whatsoever. Only gripe about it I have though is that it reflects in the windscreen a little when driving in the dark. Sounds OK too IMHO.
