Default Speaker Swap

This may be a dumb question….

My car came fitted with Infinity Reference 6000 CS 6.5inch component speakers but I have some Infinity 6512si’s lying around from a previous install and I wondered if:

- The 6512’s are better than the (older?) 6000’s?
- is it OK to replace a component speaker with a stand alone speaker with it’s own tweeter in the middle? What impact will this have on the sound due to the crossover, if any?

Any help gratefully received

Component speakers will be better. If you have a tweeter in the middle of a speaker, then you have a hole in the speaker to do so, thus you are losing a lot of bass by having them. You want to keep you 6000's that are in already I think
