I have one of the kenwood multimedia TV units and I am hopefully going to fix it to the floor properly tomorrow and run the cables under the centre of the carpet, can I just screw the self tappers directly in to the floor under the passenger seat?

Is there anything under the floor that I am likely to damage with the screws?

I used velcro secure the box to the carpet in mine.

Velcro isn't a bad idea. You can also use short screws that only go into the carpet, as you screw them in they will bunch up a little so they won't go anywhere, but you won't have to put holes in your car

You can get U shaped clips that are threaded on one side and will fit in a slit in the carpet. For extra security, use a big blob of silicone sealant under the clip.

but velcro is the way to go for you i think, dont go drilling holes
