Replacement speakers up front

Replacement speakers up front
Has anyone made their own speaker pods for the front doors of their Scooby? I have a MY00 and am going to replace the speakers up front but don't want to hide them behind the door panels.
I have a nice Alpine head unit and am going to get some Alpine coaxials and dont see the point of hiding them away when they look so great!
I am thinking if I make a couple of frames from plywood - one the same size as the grill in the door panel, the other to mount the speaker itself - then spread some fibreglass to make up the difference, I can cover with a piece of suede or alcantara.
If anyone has any photos of their work I would love to see them.

Here you go mate
Hope these help. These were custom built and covered, then fixed to the door card. They contain a 17 cm Kenwood component.
They were only supposed to be a quick fix but they looked so quality, I thought i'd leave them as they were.
