Default single din fitting?

what is the best way to fit a single din unit in to a newage dash?

i have got a facia adapter to fill the hole, but will i need to use the brackets off the standard unit on the new one or will the cage that is supplied with the new unit fit securely in to the dash?

any help appreciated

Use the brackets off the OEM fit radio.

Occasionally you'll have to drill new holes in the brackets to fit the DIN pocket but its no biggy and easyto measure up and do

I was going to say look in the FAQ for chiark's guide, which I followed and is perfect! Unfortunately, his website seems to be offline, so here is the google cached version:

Chiark: Scooby ICE FAQ

This worked in my 02 UK WRX.

As stated above, the standard brackets should be OK - they were fine on my Sony head unit, but I did need to find new screws to fit it.

You will also need an ISO adapter for wiring in the head unit:

Make sure you buy the Subaru Forrester double to single din adapter, its so much tidier than anything you can buy. Looks good. I'll try and find you a picture of mine... Found:

I think mine's upside down though, but it looks better in the car than in this pic.
