Default Front Door Sound Deadening

Front Door Sound Deadening

Is this needed? If you have fitted it did it make a difference and what did you use?

Thanks.

for a cheaper option, go to local builders and get lead flashing, it costs about £20 for 15 meters by me, and the same job

...i think you mean flashing tape. lead flashing in the doors might cost a bit more than that and would probably slow you down a bit . i wouldn;t have thought that flashing tape would absorb the sound like dyna mat would but obviously it's working for you

I just did about 40cm around the speaker and put some wide strips on the inside of the outer door skin.

If you use flashing tape, make sure it is self adhesive and is as stiff as Dynamat, i.e. very stiff and heavy. The only flashing tape I have seen would have been useless at deadening vibration.

When you deadened the door did you cover the inside bit too, the inside of the outer door skin?

I'm in the process of doing my rear doors, and I'm not sure whether to bother or not? I've got enough dynamat so I though might aswell.
