ICE Upgrade - Ideas Welcome!!
B][/B]Hi Everyone,
I am looking for ideas on upgrading MY55 Sti standard ice system.
I need ideas on speakers...fitting them, where to buy? How much? Do you need to buy a spacer? Do you need new connectors?
Also need ideas on Head Unit, best replacement? Cost? Blanking plate...were can you buy them from???
Your comments are appreciated..................
Cheers

In my 2005 Spec C i have a Kenwood DDX 7029 headunit, with Focal 165 K2P components in the front (using a home made 18mm MDF Spacer) and doors fully dynamatted.I also have 2 JL 8w3 subs built into the floor behind the front seats powered off a JL 300/4 amp and trust me it sounds incredible

Scoobylee, welcome to the site mate
Firstly you need to decide on a budget mate, then decide what music you listen to and then decide how loud you want it!!
My systems cost nearly 6k so far, so the sky's the limit.
Have a look at some audio site's like justkenwood, or caraudiosecurity etc and see what they have on offer.
Other options include placing a Wanted in the Wanted section and see if anyone here can help you out with some items.
You will also need some decent power cabling, fuses, sound deadening and a lot of patience if you are doing it yourself.
If you require amps or subs you'll need to decide whether or not you need the boot or rear seats and how you'll get them in there.
I'm not trying to put you off doing it coz I've done it and believe me 17cm speakers fit in the front doors and you can get al least four large amps in the boot with room for a 15" sub and box.
Oh, and and the slimline PS2 fits in the glove box!!!
If you dont belive me - view my profile!!
Best of luck and put up some photos when youre done
