Hi people, I am new to this game, I have just bought a '99 Sti-V, am looking to change the rear speakers, I have seen the posts about how to do it, but was wondering if instead of 6x9's I can put 6" or 6.5" mids into the holes without modifying the car?
Has anyone done this? Any help greatly appreciated

Necromax and I fitted 6" Coral drivers into the back of his Terzo without any grief. But, so that any further changes would be easier, we fitted the 6's onto a pair of MDF panels which basically followed the shape of the metal platter the original speakers fitted onto. That way, new speakers just get screwed into the MDF, rather than needing the whole rear of the car out again
Glad to hear you're not going for 6*9's, by the way - at least some people want proper speakers

hehe you know that!!
When you are running amps etc, the best sound reproduction we all know are from dedicated mids / tweeters decent crossovers, 6x9's are only good when no amps are used, the efficiency of mids etc are much more than 6x9's
