Classic - Arial always up with new HU
Since having the new Alpine X001 installed, my arial is always up when the head unit is switched on, whereas before, it would only go up when the original head unit was switched to the radio. Any idea how to fix the problem?
Thanks

Might just be how the radio is...
It will depend on when the radio gives the signal to the aerial power lead, either on power up or on mode select...
Who made your old radio???
Ady.

Thanks for all the replies.
The install was done by a high street shop.
The original radio was the Standard Subaru Japanese double height CD.
I don't know if the radio has a blue wire in loom, but if that's crucial, I can try and check.
Interesting point, I shall try it with that turned off.

This is a right pain. It wasn't the traffic report option. And I'm not sure if the x001 has 2 power output switches (one for amps, one for the radio) without taking the dash apart. I hate the aerial up when I'm not listening to the radio, but I don't want to lose it altogether. At least I've learnt how to spell aerial

The only aftermarket stereo manafacturer I can think of that has a radio only aerial output is Sony, all others will be on if the head unit is on. You could get hold of a switch of any type, or Mitsubishi and Isuzu both use electric aerial switches with a aerial symbol on it.
