How do I remove an ALpine 9850ri HU?
I'm going to be linking up a JBL2000 400watt amp and kenwood 12" sub today. I'm going to run the wires around the car to test the sound and see if I'm going to spend the time installing it all professionally.
Anyway, I can't figure out how to remove the Alpine 9850ri head unit. I've taken the faceplate off and the fascia plate around the hu. I can't find any holes or anything where I pull the hu out of the cage???
Please help!!
Photos would be great (a big ask, I know!)
THANKS!!!

I'm not to sure if the year of the car matters but i have a 2003 wrx and to remove the sterio in that you have to remove the dash fascia around the sterio.
(thats the bit round the heater buttons and the sterio)
Once removed you will find there is 4 screws facing you holding the sterio onto a metal cage, once they are removed and the cage is loose you can then remove that.
The sterio SHOULD be attached to that with 4 screws (2 on each side)
Undo them and Bobs your uncle, Fannys your mothers sister!!!
Hope this helped.

Hi guys,
just for your information, on the 9850ri there is 2 little black spring loaded stalks (they are very tiny). They are located about halfway up the headunit on either side under the silver faceplate. Once you have removed the faceplate and located them, gently move them up (roughly half way with a small firm object (I used a pen), you will notice that they will click out of the cage itself and if you have the rubber bung and screw attached on the back of the H/U, all you have to do is just gently prise the H/U out of the dash.
Just dont pull too hard as the existing cabling could get damaged.
Thats all there is to it.
