Default single din LCD monitors

Seen some motorised single DIN LCD monitors on ebay - they do nothing else other than pop out and give you a screen.

Has anyone got one, or had a play with one?

I was thinking of getting one to allow me to plumb the PS2 into the car in a tidy way - I have my JVC head unit giving me decent sound, I just need a picture!

Mine's all self contained - headunit and screen

Just plug the PS2 into the ports and away you go, or the digital camera for that matter. Sound through the speakers and amps. ("Black" never sounded so good)

Thing being is I haven't had this head unit for long - and a headunit with a screen with comparable sound quality will cost a fortune.

I really just want a screen.

A mate of mine has recently purchase a single din with small lcd screen off ebay. Hopefully it should be with him soon. Not bad price for £120.

I will be fitting it for him & hopefully I might get one myself, if its good.
As long as its got 2 pre outs for the amp connection.
Its supposed to be single din but looks just a tad bigger.

Please post your opinion of it when you get hands on - I'd be very interested to hear what you think of it.

I was under the impression most of those single screens don't have DVD slots in them, and that they are just motorised screens - so won't have pre-outs? Just video inputs?

It arrived today after 2 weeks wait something to do with demand?

This version has a small 3" screen, not motorized flip type version. Its part of the removable front face. Just thought I would point that out.

The screen is central to the face. Its a single din unit but it has a higher lip at the front top section. Same with the face. That is because it has slots at the top/front for usb (ipod type connection) & another slot for memory card.
I am not up to date with all the new gizmo add ons.
I just trail fitted the unit into his clio (stereo slot) & its not a create flush fit as his stereo facia is slighty curved. Plus if it did you would have trouble fitting your usb leads into the usb port etc, due to the dash design.
There is also a slight gap on either side. The unit itself is the same size as a single din unit but its the front section where it all changes. I suppose its down to what type of car you fit it to, but its not standard for sure.

I just briefly checked the leads at the back & there are plenty of them.
2 rca outputs front & rear. (amp)
tv anntenna x 2 etc audio input leads & video.
There are a few more which I cannot remember but will get the list tommorrow once I wire the unit in for him.
